Many of us, use PortableApps on their PCs because of:
- One click to update all.
- If you format the drive and reinstall OS, you don't need to install everything from scratch.
- Just copy the folder PortableApps to another PC and you are ok!
- Plus, there is no need to install non-portable app in any PC.
So, I believe in an Settings option which forward file extension handlers for PortableApps applications to system.
E.g. If 7-ZipPortable handles extensions *.7z and *.zip, then with one click in PortableApps Settings these extensions forward to Windows.
So, when you ENTER a zip file in Windows Explorer 7-ZipPortable open it.
try to search for something like file association or similar.
It is in preparation and has been discussed many times.
It needs to be also suitable for portable use and is therefore not so simple.
