Any plans to update this portable app?
Would it be OK if I just install the v1.23.1 into a sandbox and just grab the exe/dlls/etc. from there?

since installing the new version of the portable apps for Geany (Version 1.23.1) I'm running into the following reproducible problem:
1) start portable geany (started up with empty workspace, no doc opened)
2) opening any text doc inside geany (via drag and drop)
3) close portable geany by clicking the 'windows close' icon top right corner
-> getting windows error message:
Geany.exe has stopped working
A problem cause the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the Program and notify you if a solution is available.
This happens only if I open a document during the geany session which is kept open when closing....
1) If I close all docs before closing geany, no problem
2) If I open geany (and the doc is reloaded from last session) and close it directly without opening or closing any documents, no problem.
I'm running on Windows 7, PortableApps.com Platform 11.2

sounds more like a base app problem then a portable problem, in that regards it is best to send off an note to the Geany developers

I have portable geany 1.23.1 and Works without problems. Reproduced the steps you indicate loading a 500 k text file, close by the Windows close icon and the program closed without any problem.
I use Windows 7 Starter.

I did install the 'normal' version of Geany 1.23.1, not the portable version, on a different computer, and everything works fine on this installation...
...it looks like the problem is nevertheless either with my portable apps installation (will try to eliminate this problem too) or with the portable application itself.

Performed a few more tests:
installed NON portable app directly from geany.org
-> no problem
deinstalled portable geany completely, checked if all is cleaned up and reinstalled it again
-> problem
This all happens on the same machine... therefore in my opinion described problems is related to the portable apps.
Would appreciate if someone else could check and fix/confirm.
