[Closed] Skype Can't Call Second Launch on WIndows 8

At windows 8:
when you fresh clean install the Skype it working:
but after you log in. close Skype and restart it.
It will not function well.

Step to reproduce:
1. You need windows 8.
2. dell/uninstall your previous Skype.
3. Install Skype from fresh from the platform (apps->get more apps...)
4. Open Skype and log in with your Skype. (this is important, because i think when you log in and close it, it save registry of Skype with wrong parameters and it change and damage Skype.)
5. Make a test call, see that you can make it.
6. Close Skype and open it.
7. Make again a test call. You will see you can't do it, and you can't close Skype properly. it only part of the wrong things.

Please verify my bug and if you can, fix.

Thanks for your work.
Tal.

Close Properly?

What exactly do you mean you can't close it properly? I can't test Skype for calls as I only use it for IM and my Windows 8 VM can't access my microphone (I wouldn't install Win8 on my actual production hardware even if you paid me to).

Close properly

It mean after the second close like I describe, It not close.
The process still running, and you can't kill. even from a task manager.
and the icon of Skype still in the task-bar.
you don't actually need to talk, just the see the test call is answering.

When you install Skype fresh and run the first time. It will work fine.
The bug is after you close it and open it again.

Close

How are you closing it? Are you right-clicking on the Skype icon in the task bar and selecting quit? When you do, what happens? If you reboot the PC, does it work after that? Please answer and try all of the above.

Close

Close it from task bar and click exit.
If you reboot your computer, the Skype is up again, but not functional,
because you can't do a conversation, and close it properly again.

If I want to working again, I need to uninstall it, and then install it again. (when I say install here i mean for install from portable app platform).

No Call?

What if you install it, run it, don't make a call, and close it? Does it close?

On the first time?

On the first time? on a fresh? everything is working fine.
even log in and just close.
you need to open it again (after you log in with your user name after the first time you open it) and then close.

No

I'm saying, what is triggering the issue. Can you run, login, close and have it work right? Does it refuse to close when you just do that? Or does it only refuse to close after you make a call?

I chek it now.

1. I am install it from fresh.
2. log in.
3. Task bar -> right click -> quit.
4. open it again.
5. Task bar -> right click -> quit.

then it not close properly like i describe.

I check it now.

I think what it trigger it, it the login it self, when it save the login information at the registry.
If you do it without login, it will work fine.

Works Fine Here

I installed Skype Portable 6.6 fresh on Windows 8 in my Desktop folder. Ran it, logged in (setting it to remember to next time), could chat etc. Right-click on task bar icon and select Quit, say OK and check not to ask again. Confirmed in Task Manager that it was closed. Ran it again, auto-logged in. Right-click on task bar icon and select Quit. Confirmed in Task Manager that it was closed again. Ran a third time, auto-logged in. Right-click on task bar icon and select Quit. Confirmed in Task Manager that it was closed again. So, I ran through what you suggested 3 times and it worked fine all 3 times.

Anything else specific to your PC you can think of?

Still Works

I switched non-Unicode to Hebrew and followed the exact same process I outlined above 3 times in a row. It worked fine the same way with Skype showing up in Hebrew.
