Hi,
Every time i open the launcher it say that Utorrent Portalbe 3.3.1.30017 is available, but when i try to install it, it say that the downloaded file isn't valid and can't be installed, maybe it's an incomplet download or a network problem, try again.
well i've uptaded some other software and had this bug for many weeks now so i don't think there is any problem with my network or something like that.
does anyone have a idea what my be the problem?

Same problem here bro, this happens since a few weeks ago. I tried to erase and reinstall and still have the problem.
Don't know why, beacuse the second file download works fine:

I have downloaded manually and copied/overwrited in PortableApps\uTorrentPortable\App\utorrent\ dir, and now have the latest version, but the update notice keeps appearing.
I had to manually edit the file PortableApps\uTorrentPortable\App\AppInfo\appinfo.ini and change the version number like:
[Version]
PackageVersion=3.3.1.30017
DisplayVersion=3.3.1.30017
Now, I don't get the notification and have the latest version (so far).
If your appinfo.in doesn't already say 3.3.1.30017, then you don't have the latest version. In that case, you should let the platform update you (not uTorrent itself) or download the current version from here: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/utorrent_portable
That download is 3.3.1.30017 and has that version in the appinfo.ini.

Hi, i agree with you but if it don't want to update that's quite the probleme then :/
You should always update uTorrent to the latest release. Outdated releases have security issues. If you don't want the ads, there is info on turning them off online. Or you can use qBittorrent.
If you want a specific version of an app to not be updated, just rename the app's folder (from AppNamePortable to AppNamePortableOutdated for instance) and the updater won't update it.

You said you didn't want to in your previous post. Now you're saying you do want to. Upgrading is easy. Just download the new uTorrent Portable and install over the old one.

no, i said the software don't want to upgrade, that what i tried to explain in the first message, i simply can't any way i tried :/
is there no one with the same problem that found a way to solve it?

i had to change the version manually to avoid the update notice everytime since i can't do it :/.

do me a favour, manually download http://downloads.sourceforge.net/portableapps/uTorrentPortable_3.3.1.300... and then install it through the platform or manually executing it

i get the same message:
"the file is not valid and can't be installed".
since everytime it's a utorrent****.online.paf is there a file called utorrent****.offline.paf? maybe this way it would work :/

It seems PortableApps.com is not updating utorrent. So I manually created utorrent 3.4.30180 portable for me
We always update utorrent. A new version just came out yesterday. It's 3.3.2 build 30303. 3.3.4 is beta... aka unstable... so we don't package it.

I couldn't update to 3.3.1.xxx version - got the same unvalid installation file.
So I removed utorrent (folder doesn't exist anymore on USB drive) and tried to install again from the "Get More Apps..." menu.
Still getting invalid download and can't install utorrent at all !!!

This is happening on another USB drive as well.
This also happens when I manually dowload .paf file from link above (sourceforge)

Since you're using a customized TEMP directory, are you sure the permissions are set up properly to allow a non-admin installer make use of it?

It used to work in previous versions.
How can I check the permissions? It is my home PC there is only one user account on it and it is administrator (me)
same problem here, using windows 7 (Spanish)
Funny thing is that I can update any other app but this one, even deleting and trying to install gives me the same "download copy not valid"
I even tried right-clic + Install as Administrator, and failed
But, I found a way...
I open a Command window (cmd) and set my temp to something like:
> mkdir c:\tmp
> set TEMP=c:\tmp
and then execute the installer in there... and WORKED fine
> %USERPROFILE%\downloads\uTorrentPortable_3.3.1.30003_online.paf.exe
So, I believe is a TEMP dir (spaces maybe or english fixed) problem. As I said, no other portable app gives me this kind of problem.
