I'd be surprised if they did a PortableApps release of Nightly Firefox. There would be so many changes that by the time a portable version is put together it would be out of date.
You will probably have to wait for the new design to make it to Beta or do a local install of Nightly (which apparently installs as a separate program).

At the moment, we don't have a Firefox 'nightlies' channel setup as we do for Stable and Beta in our app directory. I'm planning on doing one at some point, but it needs a custom installer to always pull the current version and we need to figure out how to do that. It will always be different, so we can't scan it and then stick the hash in the installer so we know it'll be correct. We may have to just warn users on install that the file to be downloaded is unverified and could contain nasties.

normally I don't try any alpha's, but I am keen on the new Australis design of Firefox 28.
I just want to have a look at the new interface, I don't need regular updates of Firefox 28.
So I thought about a portable app (I just don't want to install a virtual machine, install Windows and then install Firefox 28 inside the virtual machine).
