logoSuperTuxKart Portable 0.8.1 has been released. SuperTuxKart is a Free 3d kart racing game. It's more about being fun than being realistic. You can play with up to 4 friends on one PC, racing against each other or just try to beat the computer. This release updates SuperTuxKart to the latest version. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotSee the great lighthouse or drive through the sand and visit the pyramids. Race under water or in space, watching the stars passing by. Have some rest under the palms on the beach (watching the other karts overtaking you :) ). But don't fall into the volcano. You can do a single race against other karts, compete in one of several Grand Prix, or try to beat the high score in time trials on your own.

for taking care of this.
I noticed you changed UNC=no to yes. Did you verify it works? Cause 0.8 crashed without notice on UNC paths.

I didn't. I'd spent a lot of time analyzing the differences between the XP and Vista/7 release and had set it to Yes to test it and then forgotten to test it.

What were your findings?
I tried the same but then decided to drop XP and set it to 7 and up.

The only actual different file was the main EXE. They have two entirely different 200MB+ installers for a single different file. And the EXE installed in the 'XP' version works perfectly fine on Windows 7. I had already written a switcher to switch between them and I wound up just using the XP one and ditching the switcher.
