According to: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/private_browsing
This app has "a custom icon in the taskbar so you can easily distinguish it from your main Firefox Portable profile".

No, it doesn't. It still uses the default Firefox icon, so you can't "distinguish it from your main Firefox Portable profile".
Environment variables:
-Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
-PortableApps.com 11.2
-Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 26.0
-Private Browsing by PortableApps.com 3.0
I can confirm that Firefox 26.0 is ignoring the documented way to have it display a custom icon on Windows 7. I'll look into this further.

I found a fix for it. Firefox changed the way it handles custom icons in version 21. I'll have an update to the private browsing launcher to handle this posted shortly.

This is fixed in Private Browsing 3.1

I did not notice it right away, but it does indeed work now. Thanks a lot!

The version of Firefox above is not Private Browsing, but the standard Firefox Portable. As you can see, it's taken on the Private Browsing's custom icon.
This will happen if you crash it by either removing the drive or shutting down the PC without closing the apps (in which case they crash and their cleanup routines can't run). You can fix this by opening up Windows Explorer and heading to your FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\browser\chrome\icons\default directory and delete the file called main-window.ico.
