Toucan 3.0.1 Log file

I run quite a few Toucan command line jobs.

I've upgraded to 3.0.1 & added the new --job= & --logfile= switches, for example

--logfile=WorkingDocuments.txt --job=WorkingDocuments

The jobs run OK, but the log file created in the Data directory is empty. Even if I specify a full path, it's no different. If I run the job from the GUI I get a normal progress window. If I don't set --logfile I get no log at all, not even an empty one.

Am I doing something particularly dim or is there an issue with Toucan log files?

Chris

I just noticed that my Sync

I just noticed that my Sync jobs do log properly, it's my backups (mainly updates I think) which return zero sized log files.

Maybe that'll help you

Empty logfile

Hi Steve
Is there a solution for this problem? I still get as well an empty logfile for the following commands:

D:\Programme\Toucan\Toucan -l "E:\Daten.txt" -j "Daten_to_internal"

Can you help me? Thank you
patsi

Development is halted

A Steve has stopped working on Toucan, changes are slim for an answer to your question.

Not Quite

We have someone that already built a bug fix release. I haven't been on the ball in getting it out, though.

Try 3.1.2

It's me who's trying to continue the development after Steve decided to quit. John, it'd really help if we could make necessary arrangements for publishing those versions properly. Smile

I haven't done anything specific to log files in those couple releases I made, but give it a try and if it still doesn't work - I can take a look at it.

See details on how to get this newer version in this thread

Unfortunately still the same

Unfortunately still the same problem with your version. Or could it be a problem related to the Windows 7? The older version was running fine under XP. Is the logfile working for you?

Just checked - it doesn't

Just checked - it doesn't work for me too.

I'll look into that. Here's the bug I've submitted for that: https://sourceforge.net/p/alt-toucan/tickets/7/. I'll report here when I have some results.

Here's a bugfix version, please test

Hello,

Please see the download link in the Beta forum thread and feel free to test it out.

It turned out the feature was actually not fully implemented and the "--log" or "-l" switch was only working in the GUI mode. I've implemented the missing part for command-line mode.

Please report back if it works or doesn't work for you, either in this thread or directly in the bug tracker.

Thanks, glad to help :)

I'll wait for about a week to see if there are going to be any other changes/fixes for 3.1.3 and release it.
