Story Topic:

Just updated my Firefox Portable to version 29. Tabs no longer work as I expect: I have to use the dropdown menu to change tabs, clicking on a tab no longer works. I can create new tabs, but I cannot close a tab at all.

Is this a new design feature of Firefox?

Is this a bug in Firefox?

Is this a buggy interaction between Firefox 29 and my plugins? (I am using Tab Mix Plus

Disable Tab Mix Plus. It breaks every single time Firefox's UI is changed.

It's either that or another extension. The UI works well and is quite fast, but is very different from the previous UI in the underpinnings. Extensions that radically alter the UI (like TMP) will break if the publishers haven't released an update.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Disabled TMP and restarted Firefox Portable. Now everything works.

I also found out that I am using a very old version of TMP; updates were not working. Installed and enabled the latest version of TMP ( and everything still works.

Thank you for your help and your quick response!
