I recently get a lot of Norton deletions on PAF executables with "Suspicious.Cloud.9" as reason. Looks like the new installer results in detection as malicious
I am not yet 100% certain but when I get too many hits on the installer files it most likely is related.
For instance Focus Writer, Puzzle collection, NeverBall, TaskCoach
Task Coach uses a PA.c Installer from over 3 years ago, so it's nothing to do with anything new on our part.
Suspicious.Cloud.9 isn't an actual virus identification. It is part of Norton's technology to 'guess' when something might be a new virus that hasn't yet been identified as a virus. As with all heuristic antivirus detection, it's rather flawed and prone to numerous false positives.
Please report all false positives to Norton so they can fix their issue.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Hi John, Thanks for the reply!!!
Since Norton immediately removed the file I was not able to check contents and since I was able to unpack in the past I suspected that maybe a new version of the installer could have resulted in the detections...
I will try later to go around the Norton detection...
Kind regards! And continue the great job you are doing!!!!!!!!
