VLC: unable to install

My VLC on the usb stick refused to work, so I went to install it again.

However the downloaded files refuse to install, I downloaded it few times and get error that file not OK.

Is there a problem or should I investigate more?

managed half

after finally managed by some miracle to reinstall VLC, it still refuses to do anything. When started, it displays a box saying fonts have to be rebuild (fonts for VLC???) , this takes some minutes and after that any file opened from VLC is closed immediately again without any error msg.

Any experience like that?

The font cache is so that it can display subtitles, the OSD, etc

I would try renaming the Data folder (or deleting it if you're not worried about your old data) and trying again. If that doesn't work I would check the drive for errors, then reinstall & rename (or delete) the Data folder.
