When I try to install/extract AutorunsPortable_13.4_English_online.paf.exe https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/autoruns-portable to it's default path it fails but when I change path to non unicode one it works.
Default path:
C:\Users\Miloš\Desktop\AutorunsPortable
Windows 8.1
Does the platform install OK in a Unicode path and it is just some apps that won't install? The reason I ask is that if Unicode paths didn't work at all we'd have heard a lot more about it.
If you are installing the app to Users\Name\Desktop\something where is the Platform installed, i.e. where is the PortableApps.com directory?

You're right, it's not a platform problem. It only happens with specific app.
It appears to be an issue with the component used to run 7-Zip to unzip the file. It may not support Unicode paths. It was likely missed until now as few users install to Unicode paths as apps themselves are very hit and miss about supporting it. (There's a reason that PROGRAMFILES is always an ANSI path on every Windows install).
I'll take a look.

This issue is fixed in PA.c Installer 3.0.18 which was just posted. The affected online installer apps will need updates to work with Unicode at this point. You can verify it's working by downloading the current Google Chrome Portable Dev release, the first app to use this new installer. Note that while it will install, it likely will not run due to incompatibilities with Unicode and its custom launcher.
