I know, old topic. But relevant and times do change. Where is a good place to host a portable app for download when the app isn't open source. This one is freeware.

Few problems and possible solutions
In order to package it you would need permission of the author of program, even though it is freeware. Otherwise would have to create an online installer.
As for places, some use dropbox or google drive, I have used mediafire. Choice is really yours, key is to have it packaged in PAF form still would require permission of app
Something like this I had of Sppedyfox https://portableapps.com/node/32020 which showed permission from http://forums.crystalidea.com/viewtopic.php?uid=832&f=9&t=433&start=0 in fourth and fifth comment

Just an old hacker having fun.
Be careful with that.
The creator has copy-pasted the MIT license, but his site also says the app is freeware (not open source).
He may have intentionally done so for some weird reason, but he also may not understand the license properly. We have had problems with developers in the past who didn't understand the license they released their app under.
