Will this be official?

I'm not sure if any of you know but Calibre already offers an official portable version of their software, although it would be nice to see it supported here and become official at portableapps.com

Here is the url to the portable version for those who are interested: http://calibre-ebook.com/download_portable

This is for calibre portable

Note the link in the original top post to calibre portable. This fits the calibre portable version into the PAc Platform and provides a launcher. You have to download calibre portable and let the PAc app install it. I think this was custom work before the new PAc installer and launcher so don't know how much work to upgrade. Don't know how complicated it would be to add additional launchers for the editor and viewer like LibreOffice has, would be nice.

Additional Launchers for Calibre Portable (PA.c)

The official stance here is that multiple launchers aren't supported. Office suites being the exception. And Calibre Portable (the PA.c version) was slated to become an official PA.c app four years ago. Not sure what happened to that. But multiple launchers are possible. Just not easy to do or officially sanctioned here.

Calibre Portable Full (Update) Release?

Is it time to reconsider a complete version of Calibre Portable again instead of just a Launcher. I was having trouble with the latest versions of Calibre working with your launcher except by doing a bit of hand loading and testing. So I put together a full version of Calibre Portable with extra launchers for the Editor and Viewer. And had the Installer generate a PA.c package that I can carry and install where needed and can also be shared.

Hope you take this to heart in reconsidering your launcher only position. And I hope you don't take my interest as being anything other than that of a fellow developer toying around with an open source project.

Have a great day and if you would like a hand in this, I am available. Yours truly, Dan Carroll

Please Release Calibre 2.0 Portable =)

Over half of businesses world wide still run Windows XP, like 4 instance it runs nearly every ATM on Earth, & lots of bank desks, retail, power plants & factories, real estate offices ~ U name it, & we also like 2 READ Smile I checked through their site & they don't specifically say which was the last XP-compatible version, or more precisely, they lie about it, claiming it was v1.48. No, 2.0 is the last one.

Why not just use the official

Why not just use the official portable version found on https://download.calibre-ebook.com/2.0.0/ Run it, then find the calibre directory, and move it to calibrePortable\App replacing the previous calibre directory. This assumes you installed the newest version.
