difference between unicode and ansi?

I have a question; I am using a windows 7 computer; does it make any difference if I use NSIS Portable ANSI or NSIS Portable Unicode?
Currently I am using ANSI due to its smaller size..... Wink
But what is the difference between them?
Do I have to have both of them installed? (I don't think so, but I'm just making sure)
Is one of them better than the other?
Thanks in advance.... Smile

Unicode

Use Unicode. ANSI isn't used by PAL anymore. The PA.c Installer includes a bundled NSIS set to Unicode mode.

ANSI is the old Windows 9x way of handling multiple languages. Unicode is the modern way. There's no reason to use ANSI anymore.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
