had opportunity this weekend to see TMPortable output directly on oversized monitor; looks good; all OK; the Courier-like aspect of the font rendering is gone, etc.
I also would like to know Why the rendering issues occurred on the remote connections, esp. since the flatness & Courier-like appearance showed up only with TM; in any case, TMPortable rendering looks good on a direct connection on 2 different-sized monoitors;
however, please note my comment on the page for MiktexPortable (plugin)
only as a remark: I've just installed TeXlive 2014 into the CommonFiles folder of PortableApps and a zip-edition of TeXmaker 3.3.4 into a sub-folder of the PortableApps folder (mainly because I'm familiar with it). After having updated all the paths in the TeXmaker config screen, this combination works like a charm for me (on a Win7x64 PC). So contrary to what is said on the TeXmaker paf home page, there is no need for the MiKTeX distribution, because the official TeXlive distribution works as well, at least on my PC. (I had installed the GhostScript paf earlier.)

Good to hear. Still wonder why remote connections would make such a strange rendering though.

Hello,
TeXMaker 5.0.2 is out.
Anyone could update this?
Maybe someone should takeover this project?
Thank You.
