I hope someone has a suggestion for me. I opened Firefox Portable on my home computer without renaming it. Now, my regular Firefox (1.5) install won't open. It shows in Task Manager as running, but no screen appears. Is there a way I can get it to run again w/o re-installing?

Run firefox.exe within Firefox Portable did you? That's not supposed to be directly run.
I would suggest killing off the firefox.exe process (there may be more than one) and then try running your local copy again. If firefox.exe sticks around after you close it (which happens sometimes) another copy can't be launched.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks for your speedy reply John. Indeed, I opened Portable Firefox on my usb flash drive without renaming the .exe, I assume my local Firefox opened instead of the portable. Afterwards I was not able to open my home installation of Firefox 1.5. I was ready to upgrade to 2.0 anyway so that solved the problem. I have now renamed my Potable Firefox to Browser.exe and I am going to avoid using it at home. It still blows my mind how great it is to be able to use Firefox at work where our only other option is an older version of IE.
