Under Accounts, thunderbird portable allows you to attach an html file as a signature.
The signature attachment path isn't relative to thunderbird, so the drive letters change.
This is the only post I've found outlining the problem: https://portableapps.com/node/1900
Instead of using the drive letter, shouldn't the signatures be stored beneath ThunderbirdPortable\Data somewhere and when you attach the html document the path would be relative to that folder instead of including the full path with drive letter included?
As stated previously, drive letters are different across systems and I haven't found a fix for this so far (including the signature switch extension that was mentioned but has the same issue as the default signature feature).
Is there a solution to this issue available yet?
It's a limitation with Thunderbird itself. I have some thoughts on a workaround in the launcher that I may take a stab at in the future.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks John. Is there any mechanism in the site to be notified about when updates occur?
In the mean time if anyone comes across an extension or other workaround, please provide a link. Thanks

I never had a problem with the sig......unless this is a new thing since TB 1.5.0.9.

It is not your audience's responsibility to puzzle out what you intended to say; it is your responsibility to express yourself so clearly that no one with a modicum of intelligence and good will could possibly mistake your meaning.
On different drive letters with no problem. I followed this guide
http://mozext.achimonline.de/signatureswitch_directory_variables.php
The use of the %ProfD% Directory Variable in combination with the signature switch extension makes the pathing behave exactly the way a portable app should. Thanks for pointing that out, rlabus. Perhaps the signature extension or some alternative could be included with thunderbird portable by default or at least linked somewhere in the readme/notes as an addon?
Also, thanks for directing me to the syndication link, rmccue. I'm not sure how I managed to miss it but it's now added to my news reader.
