Batch Compiler

Hi all,
I have used "Batch Compiler" for convert some file .cmd (and .bat) to EXE.
This program is very simple to use and powerful.
About this program:
- Batch Compiler on Sourceforge.net: http://batchcompiler.sourceforge.net/
- BC Sourceforge project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/batchcompiler/
- BC Sourceforge download page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/batchcompiler/files/
- BC Sourceforge direct download rel. 1.3.0: http://sourceforge.net/projects/batchcompiler/files/Version%201.3.0/Batc...
- BC blog: http://www.getbatchcompiler.blogspot.ro/
- Batch Compiler on Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/Jaya...
- BC author: Isuru Arunoda (Sri Lanka)
How to use it:
1. download the .zip file that contain the installer
2. run the installer "Batch Compiler 1.3_Setup.exe"
3. use the Update feature inside program to update it to rel. 1.3.2 (update online only).
I have not tested this program with Regshot but... when I removed it in the program folder remain a .reg file with "keys" used by program into Registry.

- Sourceforge download page for portable version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/batchcompiler/files/portable/
- Sourceforge direct download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/batchcompiler/files/portable/Batch_Compi...
How to:
simply unzip the archive "Batch_Compiler_portable.zip" and run "Batch Compiler.exe"

@rbon

seems like the author took down the portable from sourceforge. Do you still have a copy of it?

Alternative

There's another program that does similar things (with x86-64 support) called Bat to Exe Converter. I'm seeing if the original developer will give me permission. If they do, you'll see it posted within a day of the permission being given. Just giving a heads up.

Good Luck

I wish you luck my friend. I've tried contacting the developer about half a year ago or so and I haven't recieved any message in return.

If the developer grants you permission than kudos because I've already made Bat to Exe Converter a PAF for my private collection and would love to share it with you in collaboration.

You just replied to a post from 2012.

You just replied to a post from 2012.
darksabre76 (Matt) has since posted a Development Test release of Bat to Exe Converter (which is slightly out of date at the moment), using an online installer (so as not to require publisher permission), although if you are able to get permission from the publisher, Matt has also stated on that thread that he is OK with someone taking over the app if they let him know.

Edit: Fixed link. Sorry.

Thanks.

How funny. I never even thought to look at the timestamp. Lol.

About what you had said in regards to permission issues; PA.c doesn't turn a blind eye to a portable test release as long as the PAF is released with an online installer, even without acquiring the proper permissions from the developer first? Am I understanding this correctly?

EDIT: I meant applications that are Freeware, Shareware, and Open Source Software of course..

Oh and the link to Bat to Exe Converter Development Test Release is just the link to this thread.

There are cases where it's OK and cases where it isn't.

As long as it's not a violation of Trademark, License, EULA or something else, bundling the app directly in the Development Test release is preferred.

For apps that require publisher permission to bundle, and that permission hasn't been specifically refused, a DevTest with an online installer skirts the issue of requiring permission to bundle the app (by not bundling the app) and allows for testing to take place so that if we can get permission, we already have some testing 'under our belt' so to speak, and we can release the app more quickly. The main issue then if you do an online installer is if we're legally allowed to use the name, as in cases such as Skype.

On a side note, there is also the potential that in some cases we can legally release an app, but still can't bundle it, and thus we can release it as on online installer as has already been done with Google Chrome Portable, and sPortable (previously SkypePortable, but name had to be changed for legal reasons).

Also I've fixed the link. Sorry.

Funny story..

Funny story..

I was referring to a different batch compiling program known as Advance Bat To Exe Compiler. However, I had a chance to play around with this build and I like it. So I contacted Fatih Kodak who is the developer of this batch compiler and was granted permission to move forward with packaging, not just his Bat To Exe Compiler, but his other software as well. Here's the email I sent him with his reply. He's a man of few words it seems like. Lol.

Yes of course. Feel free to package it.

It will meet all the requirements that PortableApps.com specifications require. I'd be honored if you allow me to oversee this project. If granted permission and this little project goes well, I would like to package more of your wonderful software under the PortableApps.com format. Of course, one thing at a time. I'm hopeful of your blessing!

So I'm in the process of PAFing it with his latest version right now. It'll be in the Development forum shortly.

If you guys need further evidence of his permission I have also asked him if he can join us here so he can verify his approval via his email account (just like last time with my development test of AIMP Portable).

This is the wrong thread for this information.

You should make a comment on the thread for darksabre76's version about taking it over (including a link to the new thread), and you should include your 'proof of permission' in the the opening post of your new Development Test thread.

Also, don't forget to post a comment about your new Development Test release on the Test Releases page.
