I use PortableApps on a cloud-service. Because this I didn´t have so much space. Last updates the launcher installs let the folder grow. Why?
Is it simple because the updated app is bigger as the old or are there any install/backup files with the update?

Some app upgrades will grow in size. Some of those will grow quite a bit.
If you're curious which apps are taking up a lot of space, try using WinDirStat Portable to analyze your cloud folder.

During an update, installers are downloaded to the local machine's TEMP directory. They are each run pointing to your cloud drive's instance and then deleted. No cache or TEMP files remain on completion.
