[Fixed] Inkscape automatic language switching broken

As Guki42 found out here, automatic language switching is broken in InkscapePortable 92.1. The folder structure seems to have been altered in this version. Here is a fix for a new revision:
Change Line 23

CheckIfExists=%PAL:AppDir%\Inkscape\locale\%PAL:LanguageCustom%\*.*

to

CheckIfExists=%PAL:AppDir%\Inkscape\share\locale\%PAL:LanguageCustom%\*.*

This topic is a translation and for the bug tracker.

Thanks

Thanks, I've made note of the fix and will push it to Inkscape for inclusion in the next base app release. Additionally, I'll push out a Rev 2 shortly including the fix.

Merge request submitted

I've submitted a Merge Request for this fix to be included in the upcoming 0.92.2 release.

[EDIT] The merge request has been added for inclusion in the upcoming 0.92.2 release.

[Fixed]

I believe this should be marked as [Fixed] now, as Inkscape Portable 0.92.2 Rev 2 includes this fix.

Thanks Guki42, depp.jones & Gord Caswell.

Basically Disabled

Automated language switching in the current build is broken. Think of it as disabled and just switch manually. It won't switch back regardless of the platform's settings.

Switch back and forth

I tried it again and it suddenly started switching with the platform, including to Czech. I'm not sure why. Could you try switching to French in the platform and launching, see if it switches, then close, switch to English and launching, then the same for Czech again?

Checks Out

I looked at it today. The setup in the launcher INI is correct and the XML hasn't changed. It doesn't appear malformed or anything either and there aren't any duplicate entries. cs is correctly selected when Czech is passed from the platform and the directory exists in the expected location.

Unicode Issues

Several apps will have issues when running from non-ANSI paths. A couple won't even start. That's why C:\Program Files on Windows was always C:\Program Files and not translated into your local language under Windows 2000 and XP.

Inkscape language switching broken

Windows 10 Pro x64. Inkscape Portable 0.92.3 Rev 2. The path to the folder of Inkscape is latinic. Switching language still does not work. I just can not switch the language. I tried to disable the antivirus and install and run the app as administrator. Already tried everything! It does not work. Splash also does not turn off. In other applications, the splash is turned off by copying and editing ini file. Here such a method does not work. You can only delete the splash file itself. Of all the portable apps only with this program there are problems.

Inkscape language switching broken

I answer myself to my question. To switch the language, you need to add a new system variable to the environment variables. Name = LANG, Value = YOUR LANGUAGE_INKSCAPE. To disable the splash, remove the splash.jpg from the Inkscape\App\AppInfo\Launcher. Sorry for my English.
