Basilisk Browser

Program: Basilisk Web Browser

License: Free & Open Source

Description: Basilisk is a free and Open Source XUL-based web browser, featuring the well-known Firefox-style interface and operation. It is based on the Goanna layout and rendering engine (a fork of Gecko) and builds on the Unified XUL Platform (UXP), which in turn is a fork of the Mozilla code base without Servo or Rust.

Other: It has a Portable version.

Note: Basilisk is development software. This means that it should be considered more or less "beta" at all times; it may have some bugs and is provided as-is, with potential defects.

Zip. Not Portable

It has a zip download that like most zip packages is not portable. It just doesn't need to be installed.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thought Was Portable

Apologies, my bad.

As I'm using the installed version and it works fine. I noticed that there was a portable version. (Or I thought it was) It is above my knowledge if it creates Registry Keys or leaves files behind on the system.

Links to where I thought it was portable.

I thought it could be a possible replacement for the later versions of Firefox for users that would like to use the Legacy Extensions.

Regards.

Not really

The only way to make it portable in sence of portableapps is to download palemoon portable delete palemoon open the palemoon-portable.ini change all palemoon to basilisk download the zip and add it to
C:\basiliskportable\Bin
you might even be able to change the splashscreen i modified the splash in photoshop .
I got that far but i still look for a way to change the icon of palemoon-portable.exe to the basilisk icon cause i renamed it to basiliskportable.exe and the ini is basiliskportable.ini if somebody here successfully changed the palemoon-portable icon to the basilisk icon please post the file

here is my portable basilisk using classic theme https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aocOpCWX9b6QkTrJjmvQjPic6jl6RcqT/view?u...
Now it only needs that basilisk icon to be in the exe and it would be perfect
for 64bit basilisk just delete the \bin\basilisk and copy a new basilisk from 64bit version inside of it
good for portable apps users
