Hi,
I upgraded np++ today but the plugin manager is missing. So wether I could use alredy installed plugins nor I could install them again. OK I could copy/move the files from plugin's folder to %LOCLAPPDATA% and rebuild the new plugin architecture. But new plugin manager is still missing.

The publisher has decided to remove the plugin manager from non-local-installer builds and (apparently) only to support it when installed locally.

I think that the result is (for me) a terrible regression: also, I installed (with normal installer) the program, and apparently many of the plugins I had before have been removed!!
I'll try to go back to previous version, as long as there is this problem.
I *strongly* suggest not to install this "upgrade", or at least to backup previous version and try before use in production.
I do like notepad++, but I always have a backup copy of it, because upgrades always risk to (usually they do) destroy previous settings (user defined languages, favorites, function lists...)
It's not a very user friendly program (and using partable apps you shouldn't configure this program with the same program, because you have to write on configuration files that get lost on a restart)
Real big fan of portableapps and notepad++, I may revisit this but I rolled back my install by reinstalling the prior "portable" version:

So does Notepad++ only use %LOCALAPPDATA%\Notepad++\plugins for plugins now? It won't use Notepad++.exe dir\plugins any more?

No, after digging through the above links, it looks like %ISNTDIR%\plugins is still used - but the "Plugins Admin Manager" is not supported for the portable build. All other plugins, according to the links, should continue to work in %INSTDIR%\plugins.
I believe that is incorrect. After installing 7.6 my plugins are not on the menu. Once I reverted to 7.5.9 they returned so is seems that existing "portable-ized" plugins are boned in 7.6 which makes that version unusable for me.
Can't really take my expected functionality suite with me on the go if some of the features come up missing and have to be re-installed on each machine. Plus I like not leaving a footprint all over the stinking OS.
It seems that some plugins in 7.5.x were installed to the Notepad++ main directory instead of Notepad++\plugins. Those would be ignored after upgrading to 7.6.x. Did you check and if any are there manually move them?

I see all the plugins in: ..\PortableApps\Notepad++Portable\App\Notepad++\plugins
When I pull down the Plugins menu on 7.5.9 I see these items:
DSpellCheck
Mime Tools
Converter
NppExport
Compare
Hex Editor
NppFtp
Tidy2
XMLTools
When I pull down the Plugins menu on 7.6 I see these items:
DSpellCheck
Mime Tools
Converter
NppExport
Plugins should now be in their respective folder.
For example:

Notepad++ loads plugins from: %PROGRAMDATA%\Notepad++\plugins\ plugins list dir : %PROGRAMDATA%\Notepad++\plugins\Config\ plugins’ config dir for user data: %APPDATA%\plugins\Config\ because Notepad++ installed on: %PROGRAMFILES%\Notepad++\ or wherever without doLocalConf.xml Notepad++ loads plugins from: <NPP_INST_DIR>\plugins\ plugins list dir : <NPP_INST_DIR>\plugins\Config\ plugins’ config dir: <NPP_INST_DIR>\plugins\config\ because Notepad++ installed on: wherever (except in %PROGRAMFILES%\Notepad++\) with doLocalConf.xmlThis is disappointing. Even reverting to a prior version is not a good long-term solution. From the brief look I've had at other portable apps, there isn't anything quite as robust as Notepad++. Hopefully the developer can re-evaluate the decision.
I upgraded and... No plugin manager. And I don't have a backup. I returned back to an older version. Tested some of the older ones and I choosed a version 7.3.3. This is the highest version where the plugin manager is built-in and works properly.
