Retired after 50+ yrs as a computer consultant and getting back into online help/activity/programming etc.
Just discovered your site [took 3 days to stumble onto it]. Decided to get to know how to use and develope portable apps.
Will try Portable Virtual Box first. It needs a little help. Any notes, guidance, directions, or comments on how things work and
how I may assists would be welcomed. While I finish getting my Supercomputer up an running and setup to program I'll check back
every now and then. Boy do I miss the resources a large organization gives you. Not the politics though.

Welcome here, if you have any questions as you're going, please feel free to ask. I suggest carefully reviewing the various pages under the packaging section here.
Further to that, Virtual Box is a very difficult app to start with, as it involves driver registration, which is not well supported at the moment.
Just replied to John asking where I would post suggestions for Downloading and Installing StepbyStep instructions.
Meanwhile I readup on the packaging section.
The base download and install instructions are linked from the platform download page: https://portableapps.com/download/success
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
It is taking me a little to wrap my mind around some of the terminology you are using, but, it is coming. What was not apparent at the start was that you downloads could be either standalone installations or part of what you were calling a suite. Some of my confusion about install and launch is yet to be resolved. It probably comes about from the multitude of people working here. It appears that the website is undergoing some revision [or constant revision]. I would humbly suggest a "simply" path thru the site for the first time, technically unsophisticated user. As a new comer I find myself wandering in the wilderness so to speak. Nevertheless I am truly impressed by what you have accomplished here. The impossible just takes a little longer. Thanks
