Truncated Portable Apps Menu

I'll try and keep this short and concise. My portabe apps menu is only half the length it should be. Each time I start it it appears the same. The only way I can workaround it is to go to options>theme> click any theme and then the menu appears the correct length. This is only temporary and next time I start PA platform the issue persists.

1. I use windows ten 64 bit
2. I install portable apps into a folder on my pc which is cloud synced.
3. The problem occured just before my HD crashed.
4. I installed a new HD
5. I downloaded my cloud synced version of portable apps
6. The problem is still here. The menu is still turncated and the workaround still works
7. I have got rid of teh desktop.ini on both the cloud and the pc
8. I have reinstalled, switched off and all the usual stuff.

I presume somewhere that before my first hard disk crashed it corrupted a file. That file I managed to download from the cloud when I re-installed. What coud be the cause of this and how can I fix it....is there a configuration file or something somewhere that I can delete or alter?

Thanks
Mike

I'm no expert

But have seen mentioned here, that sometimes reinstalling an app might clear things up. Download the installer for the platform/menu and try reinstalling it to see if it will correct your issue.

Thanks but already tried that

Thanks for that, but I have already treid that, and have deleted all the relevant files from the cloud including all the hidden files from my pc before shutting down and starting over with a new install, but the problem returns.

Temporary Fresh Install, Then clean install

You could install a new copy to your Desktop directory from a downloaded platform installer to test for sure if it's a settings/corruption issue in your cloud install or an issue with the PC. If that works, then its definitely something up with your cloud install. In that case, I'd recommend deleting the contents of the PortableApps\PortableApps.com folder. Make a copy first to be safe. That will reset all your settings and wipe all the files of the platform. Then reinstall the PortableApps.com Platform by downloading a fresh copy and installing to the directory that contains your Start.exe file.

Thanks John but sadly that didn't work either

Just tried that. Installed a fresh copy to a different directory. Still get the truncated menu. Must be my something more global than a cloud setting. Maybe a registery setting? That is beyond me and beyond your remit! Thanks for the help so far. I am just puzzled how this happens when I have a new disc and a new clean install of Windows from a seperate source. The only connection between the two systems is the physical laptop, but hat has a new disc and the cloud download. I can only guess that when I re-dwonloaded portable apps from the cloud to a cloud linked folder on my 'new' laptop it made some system changes, but hat seems unlikely. #stumped
P.S. I even treid a fresh install on an external disk and that also has the truncated menu. #reallypuzzled

Hardware or Driver issue

Sounds like either a hardware or a driver issue (as in video driver) if a fresh install of the platform isn't working. There's nothing that would be the same between them and the platform has no settings saved in the registry like you're thinking.
