A new version of Iron Portable has been released. SRWare Iron is 'The browser of the future' - based on the free Sourcecode "Chromium" - but without some features that privacy advocates object to. This release updates to the latest version and fixes an issue preventing manual language selection. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Iron is packaged for portable use with permission from SRWare.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotIron is based on the open source Chromium source code that the Google Chrome browser is based on. Iron does not include the unique ids, timestamps, custom error pages and other information present in some Google Chrome packages.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Iron Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Launching Portable Iron when Portable Chrome or Not portable is running first, Iron will not load because it says Iron is already running. If I launch Iron first, then other Portable versions of chrome, Iron has no problem, of course, and if I close Iron and open it up while other Chrome browsers are running, it seems to be okay. Even an older version of Iron would tell me another instance is already running, And the fact that you can pull tabs away and make new windows of any chrome based browser, this should have never even surfaced as an error in Portable Iron.
Well, anyway, I didn't test it with Comodo version, Torch or others in this manner.
