By the mere fact that http://portableapps.com redirects to https://portableapps.com you are obviously aware of how important it us to use https, especially with Google Chrome slowly but surely on its way to block http websites.
So please make sure to link to https websites, not http ones, whenever https versions exist, of course.
Also keep in mind not all websites are as aware as you are and bother to redirect.
Even the almighty VLC is one of those sites.
So for example in the following links you link into their http website and expose your users to the risks of http and the eventual blockage of Google Chrome:

- The permanent link https://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable

They just haven't been updated. I can't do it automatically as a lot of them still don't support https. The two you linked are updated.

If you ask me, just do a search and replace in your database for
http://www.videolan.orgorhttp://videolan.org.They're fixed now.
I was referring to it being an issue with all the apps. We need to go through and update them in the homepages, stories, help files, and appinfo.ini files as we update them after confirming that the sites now support https and updating to any URL changes.

I think the actual site takes priority. If VLC is fixed there (like it is now) it's more important than one of its readmes.
But I guess you can make a table like https://portableapps.com/development/test.
In the mean time, would you like this thread to be used to report similar apps like VLC, should others be found later on?
It happened there too. Actually, the latest announcement's "Learn More" links to the wrong website altogether.
And the program itself should be fixed to using https in both "Learn more" and "Publisher: SMPlayer Team".
As mentioned above, this requires manually going through every single app. SMPlayer changed their website a while back and the news posts haven't been updated.

I think it's better to fix here and there where people bother to report. It's either that or just giving up and never fixing anything.
You might want to at least fix the listing of SMPlayer so from now on it won't be an issue.
