I'm setting up a Thunderbird/NextCloud system (email/contact/diary) for the leaders of my association. At home, Bitdefender doesn't notice anything but their antivirus tells me there is a problem.
Back home, I go to virustotal.com and, while analyzing the exe of Thunderbird portable, it discovers a trojan (Trojan.MSIL.qhua ). I am very annoyed of course.
What do you think about it?

You can see from the VirusTotal results that it is only detected by a single AV engine, Jiangmin, which is very prone to false positives.
If there was a real trojan in Thunderbird Portable it would be detected by more engines, including many or all of the bigger and more trustworthy engines.
Thanks for your quick response Ken! You're right, the only AV engine that detects it is Jiangmin.
The problem is that the virus has also been detected by the association's antivirus program... I'm trying to find out its name (stupidly, I forgot to write it down). I'll come back here when I have the answer.

So, the antivirus that detects a virus is McAfee Virus Scan.

Doesn't it bother anyone that a well-known antivirus program like McAfee spots a problem in Thunderbird Portable?

Antiviruses detect false positives all the time. Even the most popular ones.
That is why we have tools like VirusTotal to compare and give us a more trustworthy idea of a false positive vs. a real detection.
