Hello John / Hello Portable Apps Team,
why is Thunderbird not updated?
There has been 78.5.1 with a "high priority" fix for more than a week!
Please don't get me wrong, this is a friendly message, but also clear criticism.
You must update the apps that are in the frontline in terms of security as soon
as possible, you have a responsibility.
At the moment everything is different in the world, but if one fails,
then you need a plan B! (you always need a plan B)
First off, you can use the built-in updater as a plan B for the Mozilla apps and update right now. So, you can be covered.
Second, there's been a bit of a perfect storm of unexpected outside factors. I apologize for not updating in-forum previously. As I was in the middle of finally updating to a slightly newer/faster used PC (~2014 to ~2017) for development to be able to update things faster and working on a bug fix for Thunderbird's new taskbar pin handling, a mental health emergency came up in my family that I had to attend to. This is why things slowed down a lot in the last 2 weeks.
Things have started moving again this week and the Thunderbird update should be out later today.
UPDATE: It's been released after addressing a breaking bug.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
