By the way, any idea how to change theme?
I just opened and closed it, opened uGetPortableSettings.ini within uGetPortable\Data\settings, set Language=it, saved and closed the file, then ran it again. It launched in Italian as expected. Are you using it with or without the platform? What language are you trying to set it to?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I just did what you did and it doesn't change the language for me. I use it with the Platform.
What I'm trying to do is to change the theme to dark but I have no idea how to do it.
It automatically switches with the platform. That how to is for non-platform users. What language is your platform in and do you have automated language switching enabled? This has nothing to do with theming.

My platform is set to English language. I was trying to change the language of the program to any different one just to check if any variables are being read by the config file and this way maybe it would be possible to change the theme. I have read there is a dark theme in uGet but it is synchronized with the Windows active theme (win10 features built-in dark mode). I use Win7 which doesn't feature built-in dark mode. As a result the program is being display in regular mode and doesn't provide an option to change it in its Settings.
The way of changing the theme of the program to dark is here: https://github.com/ugetdm/uget-windows-installer/issues/3#issuecomment-6.... However, following that suggestion may be problematic for the portable version, as with each update the file where the change for theme switching is required will be removed. As a result, it will be required to make the change after each update. Would it be possible to introduce a possibility for changing the theme within the portable setting file - uGetPortableSettings.ini?
Sure. Customize your uGetPortable\App\uGet\etc\gtk-3.0\settings.ini as you'd like and leave it in the current location. Next, within uGetPortable\Data, create a directory called gtk-3.0 and copy your settings.ini file there. On the next release, the one in uGetPortable\App\uGet\etc\gtk-3.0 will be removed. The one within uGetPortable\Data\gtk-3.0 will be preserved and moved into place while uGet Portable runs. It'll also get backed up by the platform's backup utility.
I updated the topic title to reflect the request as well.

This is fixed in uGet Portable 2.2.3-2.1
