I did the Zotero App that was released on april 12th. I have a question, that I am a bit too afraid to ask...
Before official release, I did update my app on my Github repo. Now that Zotero is officially supported by portableapps, how do I update it?

I built 6.0.5 for now. For the next release, you'll take the existing release and update Zotero within along with the version and repack. Then post it for download whever works for you. That could be your current github repo and maybe rename the project to pre-build or test build or something. Once it's update and uploaded, drop a not to the developers email address with the link and I'll scan it, sign it, and repack it then upload to our download mirrors.

It will keep track of applications that need to be updated.
Instead or in addition of the email?
Track it (emails subscription) in the case you've missed an update, and post to let common users know that you have made and sent it. Just like what Depp.Jones is doing!
