logoA new version of Inkscape Portable has been released. Inkscape Portable is an open source scalable vector graphics editor packaged as a portable app, so you can do your graphics work on the go. It has all the same great features of Inkscape including markers, clones, alpha blending and has a streamlined interface. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Inkscape Portable is made available in conjunction with the Inkscape team.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotInkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.

Inkscape supports many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.) and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more. We also aim to maintain a thriving user and developer community by using open, community-oriented development.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Inkscape Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Inkscape Portable is available for immediate download from the Inkscape Portable homepage. Get it today!

Comments

If a file that contains text elements are opened in Inkscape 1.2 (portableapps) - then it always pop up a message that list the fonts used.

Example
Font 'Bahnschrift' substituted with 'Bahnschrift'
Font 'Franklin Gothic Demi' substituted with 'Franklin Gothic Demi'
Font 'Gill Sans Nova' substituted with 'Gill Sans Nova'

OS: Windows 10 Pro, 21H1, 19043.1645

I've tested the original version of Inkscape (downloaded from inkscape.org) and cannot reproduce at that. Therefore this looks like an issue only affected by the portableapps version of Inkscape 1.2.

**To reproduce**
* Use previous version of Inkscape to create a document that contain the fonts mentioned above (other fonts may or may not be affected).
* Run Inkscape 1.2 - portableapp version.
* Use dialog box file --> Open, find/select the file created in step 1

Nothing has changed on our end with regards to font handling. We'll need to look into this more to see how we can resolve the issue you've mentioned. I've started a bug-tracking thread so we can look into this further: https://portableapps.com/node/66357
