With this release paint.net now only supports Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11. When upgrading on a Windows 7 or 8 machine or a Windows 10 32-bit machine, a PaintDotNetPortableLegacyWin7 version will be created alongside the existing upgrade to allow it to continue to work. This legacy package is also available from the paint.net Portable homepage: https://portableapps.com/apps/graphics_pictures/paintdotnet-portable#dow...

Both the 32-bit and 64-bit packages are included for maximum compatibility and performance.

IMHO, this ↑↑ sentence should be edited now.

Any chance we could include the sha256 hash value for legacy releases in the main app listing?
I usually download from app page and like to double check such things.
