[Fixed] LibreOffice Portable Still 7.5.7 Secondary Launchers Not Working

I have tested both on Windows 10 and 11 on two different computers both with 64-bit OS. All "direct" LibreOffice apps don't start with Portable Apps version of LibreOffice 7.5.7.1.

I have tried with different install paths with new clean installation and it does not work no matter how I have changed the install path. The path C:\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable7.5.7.1\ was for example used.

It's the same behavior when starting from within the portableapps.com launcher as directly from installed path using windows explorer.

It's the same behavior with:
LibreOfficeBasePortable.exe
LibreOfficeCalcPortable.exe
LibreOfficeDrawPortable.exe
LibreOfficeImpressPortable.exe
LibreOfficeMathPortable.exe
LibreOfficeWriterPortable.exe

but there is a way to start Calc for example and that is by launching LibreOfficePortablePrevious.exe and then starting Calc from within LibreOffice.

Everything works just fine with LibreOffice Calc 7.5.6.2 and 7.6.2.1.

This problem only applies to version 7.5.7.1 and can hopefully be fixed in the final release of the 7.5.x branch.
Please verify that this works before releasing the portable 7.5.8.1 version.

Try OpenOffice Forums, Which Also Deal with LibreOffice

Try posting your problem to this forum: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/

They usually manage to find a fix. Just be certain to mention that you are using LibreOffice Portable.

P.S. You should always be using the launchers to start your LibreOffice. Never launch them by any other means.

Edit: Sorry the information in the P.P.S. is inaccurate, please see my posts below — there is a bug.

P.P.S. I have LibreOffice Portable 7.5.7.1 on my own Windows 10 system. I experience no difficulty in launching any component of the suite by the respective launchers. This implies that there isn't a bug in LibreOffice for this version.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

Thanks for your quick answer.

Thanks for your quick answer. Glad to hear that you could reproduce the error. I can try to make a post in https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/ as well. I thought it just was an Portable Apps issue as I have no problem starting the normal installed version of Calc "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\scalc.exe" but as I understand from your answer other people over at that forum also works with the portable apps version of LibreOffice.

Don't Report at OpenOffice Forums Yet

I think it would be pointless reporting at OpenOffice Forums as, as far as I can see, you were/are correct in thinking it an issue that needs to be dealt with by PortableApps.

Wait see what John T Haller has to say when he turns up.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

It is a Bug with the Launchers

Oops! I found out that I had an older version of LibreOffice Portable installed. I have now just downloaded and installed LibreOffice 7.5.7.1 on my own Windows 10 system.

On testing that out, yes, the launchers aren't working properly the only launcher that works for me is LibreOfficeMathPortable.exe — none of the other launchers work.

Apologies for providing misleading information. :0(

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

It Seems to Change a Bit

Now the only launcher that works is LibreOfficePortablePrevious.exe. Others not working.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

Secondary Launchers LibreOffice Still

The secondary launchers for LibreOffice Portable Still 7.5.7 weren't updated for the Still version and are looking for LibreOfficePortable.exe which doesn't exist. For now, just use LibreOfficePortablePrevious.exe and then launch Calc. I'll work up a patch.

Thanks a lot John. I waited

Thanks a lot John. I waited and never posted anything on OpenOffice forums hoping that you would have an idea of what was wrong. I guess there is a requirement from LibreOffice or another good reason for why the files have to be renamed to *previous.exe as to me it seams much easier to just leave them without the *previous even it's the "Still" version of LibreOffice.

Temporary Patch To Fix

I've put together a temporary patch (see updated patch below) to fix this issue before I post a revision. Just download the linked ZIP file and unzip it to your LibreOfficePortablePrevious directory. Let it replace the files as it does. Includes fixed secondary launchers, source and license.
