I am trying to update Thunderbird from a older version with ThunderbirdPortable_115.8.1_English.paf.exe (SHA1=DFA2C0D0E551B5938FF9C252BD246E6071FEA586), I keep geting a popup "Extract: error writing to file xul.dll".
Something wrong with the installer or with something at my end?
Downloaded it twice.
Tried to install more than once, even a fresh install. Same error.
That means the file is locked on your PC. Usually a quick reboot will solve the issue. If not, you could use something like IObit Unlocker Portable to determine what is locking it and unlock it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Ok, I'll try.
I had ThunderbirdPortable_91.8.1_English.paf.exe (the only other installer I had). That updated my portable without any problem.
EDIT :
That problem occurs only if I check "include 32-bit support"
Tried with ThunderbirdPortable_115.6.1_English.paf.exe. Same problem.
EDIT 2 :
You may be right. Tried it on a different Windows installation and it installed OK.
