Looks like a new Teamviewer commercial policy!
Should be the same with the non-portable version, knowing that both versions are packaged by the same publisher!
Try asking friends for tests → different accounts/computers, etc. Maybe it only happens for some active accounts, certain locations, etc.

possibly all, read other complaint yesterday!
otherwise we should look for other, maybe opensource.
was one here or request?
i wanted search, filter and get appriciate alternatives on europes top tec magazines downdloads but they are kind in caves.
pointed out, maybe they fixed.
to find candidate to create.
or look in opensource dvd for candidate, there were two, i think office and student dvd.
is there a project focus on opensource apps?
EDIT
i think they cant really serve a full freeware. dont want get deep on that.
it will sure be a trial or very restrickted.
wide spreaded and checked opensource would better to use.
i help were i can. maybe you can help me too. threads in account/track.
if you don't want to help don't post crap!
I tried to work with TV this year, but it is becoming useless. Even older, full licensed enterprise Version on one of my computers refuses to work.

is there no widely used opensource app?
this would make sense by apps you need to trust, like these kind of app.
is there possibly a project focused on scientific or tech opensource apps.
i think one openoffice project is the opensource dvd, but kinda got old or not actual.
i dont want to propose one, as need to fix many other things first.

there are some alternatives around, but one has to remember that to operate things like Teamviewer, someone has to provide, run and maintain also the infrastructure for it. This means the servers which will guide the communication in safe way from one client to other. This costs money. Therefore there is not much one can expect from any kind of free tool in this field.

i thought it would be enough to provide the app and no need for infrastructure, as it should work as peer-to-peer or not?
but maybe i'm to ...
i thought you let install the app on other pc and the connection comes like handshake or how you call it.
i'm not deep into it, but thought it works simple nowadays. however, if you quick, you have 90min to get a free year in the mentioned easter deal.

how such connection should take place? Connection between two computers would work only within own network as this is generally the only reachable devices. Your pc is hopefully not reachable from internet so how should the connection be build up?
The solution is that both parts do communicate with a dedicated server as some kind of outbound communication similar to calling a webserver is possible and answers to such call can be answered. This server will make the connection between those two sites so they can exchange data by this indirect way.
By this communication can also take place between devices like mobile phones which are definitely behind 'carrier grade nat' and are not reachable from internet at all.
