using PortableAppsPlatform to update Portable Apps not installed with the Platform

I don't remember why, but when I started using Portable Apps, I used to download zips individually, and unzip the zip files in a folder/directory structure/hierarchy I created. That is, I used them without using the PortableAppsPlatform.

Nowadays I quite like this folder/directory structure/hierarchy.

But it's a headache updating these apps. Gotta download the zip, then aim the unzip correctly etc.

Is it possible to use the PortableAppsPlatform to update these apps that are distributed in a folder/directory structure/hierarchy of my own choosing? If yes, what's the process please?
