I don't remember why, but when I started using Portable Apps, I used to download zips individually, and unzip the zip files in a folder/directory structure/hierarchy I created. That is, I used them without using the PortableAppsPlatform.
Nowadays I quite like this folder/directory structure/hierarchy.
But it's a headache updating these apps. Gotta download the zip, then aim the unzip correctly etc.
Is it possible to use the PortableAppsPlatform to update these apps that are distributed in a folder/directory structure/hierarchy of my own choosing? If yes, what's the process please?
Thanks.

Thanks. Excited for that release.
That's different. It will allow users to use a separate directory for non-PAF apps but it won't automatically update them.

It isn't at present. A main reason for PA.c Format is to ensure apps are fully portable and upgrade properly every time: https://portableapps.com/about/what_is_a_portable_app#whypaf
With ZIPped apps, they often won't keep stuff portable without a specific command line switch or environment variable. And just unzipping over itself will cause issues with settings or files from version to version. PA.c Format removes all those issues. There are 3rd party launchers that try and do this but they often mess stuff up, often leaving behind files on the local PC with personal information.
