The simple fix is to navigate to Help/About Google Chrome (chrome://settings/help) but for all versions of Google Chrome Portable I've used, the update does not occur, and I get this message.
An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 1: 0X80004005).

As Google has patched these exploits in version 138.0.7204.97 a Google Chrome Portable release using 138.0.7204.97 or later would be great.

Due to the exploit it would be highly recommended to update Supermium on the PA platform to the latest version (R5) as well.
