Firefox Portable appears to be running from a location that is read-only... What's the meaning of this message?

This message appears each time I try to start Firefox by my Trascend Jet-Flash 2 Gb
:
"Firefox Portable appears to be running from a location that is read-only. Would you like temporarely copy it to the local hard drive and run it from there?
(Privacy note: Any personal data whitin Firefox Portable will be copied to a local drive. Although will be deleted on exit, it may be possible to recover this data later.) Yes Not
----> If click Yes
appear this message:
"Firefox Portable not run directly, from a read-only location and will now close"

Before Firefox worked ok, I tried to reinstall Firefox portable last ver. but without success... other apps of suite works ok.
Thanks

Read Only

This appears when Firefox Portable tests the medium it's running from for writeability. It writes a simple emtpy file and deletes it. If that fails, it thinks it's read only. If you have a read only switch, be sure it is OFF. If you don't, your drive probably has logical errors and should be backed up, reformatted and restored.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Either that or you're using

Either that or you're using an external hard drive formatted with NTFS with only guest or limited permissions.

Vintage!
