It would be great if JabRef was supported.
from http://jabref.sourceforge.org
"JabRef is an open source bibliography reference manager. The native file format used by JabRef is BibTeX, the standard LaTeX bibliography format. JabRef runs on the Java VM (version 1.4.2 or greater), and should work equally well on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X."
Correct link is: http://jabref.sourceforge.net/

IIRC, Jabref is a standalone Java file, so it is per definition portable, but - how does one go about Java files in the PortableApps setup?

A portable JabRef package is available here:
https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/maitre/www/download/JabRefPortable.zip
It saves the preferences to the portable drive and updates the paths with the correct portable drive letter. It hasn't been thoroughly tested, so there might be some bugs left.
This is Great! Is the program upgradable to Jabref 2.3?
I think we are up to version 2.4.2 now. I would be very interested in knowing how to upgrade to that. Can I just replace a .jar file or something?
