Does anyone know if it is possible to configure a flash drive, or any usb device, as a non-removable drive? I would like to enable autorun on my flash drive, and so far, I have not been able to find solid information about it.

I don't believe you can make it so anything for when you plug it in, however with SP2 (dunno about SP1, but no SP doesn't do anything) you can make an autorun.inf and include:
====
[autorun]
shellexecute=PStart.exe
====
(without the ==='s of course; change PStart.exe to whatever you want to run)
I did what you said and it does make starting Pstart much quicker. Thanks!

It gives instructions on how to setup autoplay handlers to autorun an app on plugin.
Enjoy:)

Windows took it upon themselves to protect computers from the new threat that are Flash drives or "Removable Media".
To protect computers anything with a hard coded label "Removable Media" cannot execute anything using the autorun scripts.
There is now way around this yet. Its for your own protection (apperently)
I only wanted to know if it was possible. I wish Microsoft would stop "protecting" us, or at least give power users the option to disable the protection. Now I want to get a UD-RW drive for Christmas!
The only way to currently add autorun capability to removable drives on Win 98/ME/2000/XP is to install a program on the host computer instead of the usb device. APO Usb Autorun is a great freeware utility that runs in the system tray and detects when any removable disks are plugged in. It then executes the autorun.inf file.

I don't how they did it, but my key provider have formated the key in 2 partitions:
The first one, formated as CDFS (how they did it?), read only, 3,92 Mb, for the launcher that launch their pasword protection s/w and oulook sync (dmailer). It starts like a CD without any other software.
The second as a regular removable drive
unfortunatly I can't change the configuration to start something else !!!

Any idea, how to make a partition of the key as a CD
You are using a U3 device. It is a system that is allowing portable software to be made a little easier (what they say). They are the exception to the autorun rule.
There is now way to get a non-U3 device to act like that. Like I stated before windows doesnt allow Autorun from a Standard Removable Drive. You have to use a third party program.
Sniper,
As i stated above, windows can be configured to use Autoplay to start a specific application on plugin using the autoplay feature. I use it to automatically start my PStart menu. It works on every Windows XP computer I have tried. See the below link to see the instructions and example I posted in another forum question:
