I noticed, hence my edit ^

Cool little game this is. Reminds me of oldschool Gauntlet minus the monsters and weapons.

Didn't leave anything behind either.

I did notice this though in...

\PortableApps\TileWorldPortable\Data\settings

in the stderr.txt

cannot use cc-lynx.dac: chips.dat unavailable [series.c:509]
cannot use cc-ms.dac: chips.dat unavailable [series.c:509]
cannot use CCLP2.dac: CCLP2.dat unavailable [series.c:509]

The only .DAT file is the intro.dat in

\PortableApps\TileWorldPortable\App\TileWorld\data

I think.

It's because chips.dat is the chip's challenge level set, and there's two rule sets for that one, and CCLP2.dat if the chips challenge level pack, and maybe it looks for those by default, but that's a program thing, not accidentally left in there I'm quite sure.

It's up / Few things

It's up in the PortableApps.com project now.

Few things:
1. I made you a pretty kick-ass ICO, too from a Crystal icon... hand-crafting the 256 color versions in all 3 sizes... I get no mention for that, too? Blum
2. The splash has to be up longer. Too short is disconcerting psychologically and makes the user think something might be wrong. Go with "newadvsplash::show /NOUNLOAD 1200 100 ..." In testing, that's about the shortest that doesn't look weird.
3. As for the tag line, how about "chips, tiles and fun to go"

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Well

Just tried again and the link for the extra levels still isn't working...

BTW, I never have problems with sourceforge, the downloads hit instantly me for always. I guess other people have issues ect, but I have never encountered them.

But
You have to add a
newadvsplash::wait
at the end of the Launcher.
Else the newadvsplash plugin will leave a folder in the TEMP folder.
Other than that it works great.
Cool game.

If you have the original Chips Challenge game, you can import the original levels as well by copying chips.dat from the original into the folder containing the TileWorld level sets.

Available on yahoo news groups.

If they were all opensource I would just zip them up and supply a link.

Check out this link for all known level packs and other information.

With every Map and Pack I could find the total install is only 14.5mb. Wink

Good to hear. And yea, some of the levels can be pretty tricky, and if you download other user contributed levels, some are meant to be impossible and you have to figure out the password for the next level. Blum If you wanna make some levels of your own, do a Google search for "Chip Edit" great freeware program, and easy to use.

Update.

Pre-Release three is up, not a huge update.

Note for John: Could you please give me editing privileges here when you get a chance, so I can work on a page for this, and maybe make a splash for WinWGet, I think that one's a good candidate as a download manager, and the download directory options I added I think is a better idea than how WackGet downloads to the WackGet Portable directory. Please give me an e-mail if you can.

Cause I've noticed you added XrXca and SmithTech to the SF project and I think XrXca has mod privileges.
