Firefox and Thunderbird - access denied?

Hey everyone!

I brought PortableApps to work today mainly because the Adobe Reader I have installed here cannot open anything that contains Japanese letters, which Sumatra PDF Portable was able to fix *yay* Smile

Unfortunately, something seems to be blocking Firefox Portable and Thunderbird; the fist application giving me an Access denied ("FW-1 at cid-ext-b") error while the second just eventually times out of after trying to connect to the server.
Now both apps worked just fine at my place so I'm guessing that something is blocking them here at work - maybe some security setting or whatever??

Was hoping that someone skilled enough in the subject would be able to help me get at least ONE of these two programs running, preferebly Thunderbird since I am unable to check my personal Gmail from work (all I get is "access denied") :/

Thank you in advance, and thank you for PortableApps! Smile

Ask your IT guys

Most likely they are blocking it and if they dont "unblock" it thete is nothing you can/should do.

Ack, I'll just have to live

Ack, I'll just have to live with it then and check my email while at home instead of here work ^^ I was just hoping that I could do something about it seeing how I AM able to reach my Gmail through the use of anonymous surfpages (whatever they're called, proxy something?).

Lol I managed to solve the

Lol I managed to solve the problem by choosing "Auto-detect proxy" instead of having a "Direct Connection" under Connection settings ^^ Now if only I could get Thunderbird working as well, 'cause Gmail is still blocked.
