When I install portable programs onto my Flash Memory, the speed is very low. Even if I install the program on my computer and then want to copy it from my computer to my Flash Memory here again the speed is as low as before.
When I copy ordinary files or music, the speed is very high. It is only with Portable Apps programs that I encounter this problem.
The model of my Flash Memory is pqi 2gb u339.
Please advise me on what to do.
Regards
is slow with copying small files.
Cause running PortableApps is a lot about copying small files whereas music is mostly big files.

Thanks for your answer.
For example, if i copy a putty program file with the name puttyportable.Exe (size 107kb) onto my flash disk it takes about 10 seconds which is a long time. Even if i execute the programs they take too much time to execute.
But i found an interesting result: if i copy the files directly into the flash disk (root directory) they copy with very good speed, i.E. The usual speed. Also the programs execute with good i.E. Usual speed.
The problem arises only when the files are in a directory, and not in the root.
Why is this so?
Best regards
Dunno about that.

slow on the install. if you install a lot of apps you will notice that they almost stop at about 30 percent done and agan at around 56-62%. this is a general thing. it also will be slower if you are using usb 1.1 or pre - hispeed usb as well as using hispeed usb devices on a non hispeed usb port or computer.

The problem may be with your computer(s). Older machines may have a USB 1.1 interface instead of the USB 2.0 common on newer equipment. The 1.1 spec IS slower than the 2.0 spec. If this is the problem, you can buy add-in boards with the higher speed connection.
Thanks but my USB is 2.0 and I tested on some computers
What should I do ?
