Portable Apps distros

Hello,
I'm interested to build a Portable Apps distribution for education, in a
nutshell it will include XAMPP, Moodle and a Wiki and some scripts to
backup and publish content. Future releases will include more apps for
different types of content (podcast, video, etc), the purpose of this
suite is to provide educators in Mexico with the possibility to generate
educational content for online courses without a always available
Internet connection.
I want this suite supported by the Portable Apps community but I need to
slightly modify the launcher (icons, shortcuts etc), can someone guide
me about the next actions to take in order to create a Portable Apps
"distro".

Thanks!!

That's hard

Linux and Window$ are NOT the same thing. The first thing you will want to do is to have Wine installed by default on the distro, so that way the Portable Applications be able to run (if you're thinking of modifying Window$, you can't, that's illegal). I think that you should start of an already made distro, like Ubuntu or Linpire/Freespire (maybe the best one is Freespire OSS Edition, which is ironically based on Ubuntu), these already are very developed and you should have no problems making one based on that. Supposing that you want to make the distro to previous Window$ users you will probably want to install the K Desktop Environment (a.k.a.: KDE) instead of anthers (ex: Gnome, the Ubuntu defaults), so that users can use it easily. You must remember that if you want to use KDE, you will want to put few things, as KDE is really heavy. For doing this you must know C, C++, and another programming languages (so, don't ask me for help as I don't know nothing about C or variants).

Hope to have helped.

Correction

Uppps!
I didn't make my self clear, what I called distro in my post was a Portable Apps suite for windows only preloaded with software related to a specific topic.
In my case authoring of online courses. It will run on Windows only. something like Portable Apps Suite for teachers...

I think

you should read and take part on this thread: https://portableapps.com/node/8469

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin
