heres what it does when i open PortableFirefox.exe
firefox.exe was not found. Please check your configuration

i have tested this on two w98se computers, a desktop & a laptop (both have usb 1.1 so they load slower but thats not the prob) i can launch firefox using a .bat from them fine (just slow cuz of usb 1.1)
i've testing it on xp home sp2 & it works fine, the drive is a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 512mb (i tihnk its U3 compatible) & heres my config file & directory structure:

btw, while i got the attention of yall, ne1 know of a prog that will export the contents of a folder into a txt file? (dump the file structure basicly) preferably freeware :), i'm also on the lookout for a more advanced cookie handler for firefox, kinda like adblock but for cookies, far fetched but worth mentioning.

dir > list.txt
Actually that's dir "dir" /s > file.txt if you want the whole directory tree. I added the directory to the dir command so you don't have to switch to it first. You can also add the /b switch to the command if you just want the paths and filenames. And if you want all the files, including ones with the hidden and/or system attributes, add the /a switch.
FF is the firefox folder, the directory tree i made didn't come out as i planed, the spaces disapeered
what do you mean the cmd line? u mean in the ini? explain plz

My God, this is why I told you to use the /b switch with that dir command. But oh well, too late now.
sorry about that, was in a hurry & didn't read all of it/understand it
but from what i can tell i'm going to try to make my own launcher that works on 98se & xp, based in autoit if i can get that to work.
thanks for the help but i need this to work on any windows with a usb port, meaning 98se+ as you may or may not beleive it, but not every computer you run into has xp on it, friends computers/family ect ect, to some "if its not broken don't fix it" or in many cases replace it, but thats another subject
if PFF's launcher could work on 98se then i would be set, but i will try my luck with my own, thx for the help neways
I was talking about the file listing you posted above; I never said anything about your launcher. That file listing was long enough as it is; not using the /b switch made it even longer. Using the following command...
dir "dir" /s /b > file.txt
...would have shortened it quite a bit.
And by the way, Portable Firefox should work without issue on Windows 95 and higher. According to the PFF homepage:
