Thunderbird 1.5 Final - when?

I think the title of the topic says it all! When will the english version of Portable Thunderbird 1.5 (not the RC1) be released?

- Thunderbird 1.5 was released by Mozilla on January 11.
- Portable Thunderbird 1.5 (german version) was released by thunderbirdforum on January 18.
(see here: http://www.thunderbirdforum.de/filebase_entry.php?entryid=453)

John Haller, do you have the answer?

Delay Reason

The reason for the delay is mentioned here:
https://portableapps.com/node/1034

I was still working on a fix for the "check for default email client" issue when I got sick last month. I'm planning to release a test version this weekend.

Thunderbird 1.5 Final

Dear Mr. Haller

Is there a Portable Thunderbird Version 1.5 (Final) available?
- or is it possible and suggested to install the 1.5RC1 and update to 1.5.x?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 is out ...

I hope that John waited for the new version.

You got it

I was waiting for 2 things:
1. a fix for the new GPG/Enigmail issue which I was testing
2. 1.5.0.2 to come out.

I should do the release tomorrow.

YAY!

A PTB release tomorrow?!? John, you've just made my night. I'm gonna go buy a case of beer before it hits 1:00am here and drink to you.

Note: No pressure. If there are any issues, hold off and see what you can do. You do great work, and if anyone expects instant release miracles, they are foolish. These things take time, and I am MOST impressed with the quality of your releases, let alone the portable concept and implementation in the first place. All (I should think) applications and games have bugs, especially on first releases or a new version. I'm rambling, but the gist is Do Your Best! (You always do) and keep doing a fantastic job.

Further delay?

Has there been a further hold-up in the release? Or am I not seeing the download link...or ought I to have used the auto-update to bring my PTB 1.5 RC1 up to the new version 1.5.0.2?

If it's just a matter of waiting a few more days, I'll be patient; I'm mainly asking because I got a little confused reading a couple other threads around here.

I'm guessing a hold up. John

I'm guessing a hold up. John is very busy and he can't be expected to do this full time. I think he also has a job doing something similar. Or it could be a GPG/Enigmail issue still. Have patience. I have been waiting to, but they say anticipation makes the reward all the better. (I don't like this saying, but it DOES apply. Wink )
