Their service prices are rediculous too, some of my friends used them once....then started calling me after that cause while i may not know everything, i can usually figure it out, and my only charge is that they provide a meal for me (something good like steak, not cheap stuff mcdonalds lol).

Yes!

Now I don't have to worry about DTaskManager anymore. What a relief. Great find, Zach. I'll look at it right away.

Hmmm?

Griffith film catalog? I was not aware I was doing that one. Wink I have never heard of it, as a matter of fact. If you want you can do it, but I just looked it up and it looks pretty neat. If you don't want to, I'll look into it.

Daphne looks great. Nice and light, but it is functional. Great pick. Everything works well. I hereby certify you with the Settings Keeper™ Seal of Approval. Blum

Alright, I'll give it a go

After taking a look at it, I don't think it will be all that useful portably because it only does movie collections. If we could find a collection manager that can handle collections in general, that would be great.

Fun Fun

Ok, so all is working good so far.

Here's your PAF conformedness changes to make:

  1. It looks like there's no fade on the splash, so I think changing the 200 on line 192 to 0 will change the fade-in you have right now.
  2. Your Other\Source\Readme.txt is all wrong. While making the AppName changes in the readme, remove the three other directory setups besides the first one.
  3. Your AppInfo.ini displays the wrong website.
  4. The help.html file also links the wrong portable web page.

That's all I could catch, I'm sorry. You did too well.

one more thing

you use an execwait command to launch the program and then you use

CheckRunning:
		Sleep 1000
		FindProcDLL::FindProc "${DEFAULTEXE}"
		StrCmp $R0 "1" CheckRunning
		Sleep 100

why would you need that because the only way that you would ever get to this part of the code is if the program execwait ended?

Please search before posting. ~Thanks

two issues

Thumbs.db leftover in the ..\Other\Help\images directory.

(Everyone should turn thumbnail creation off to prevent this)

Files in ..\App\Daphne dir not UPX compressed. Check this reference out. (1.86MB reduces to 1.12MB)

If I wished upon a star...

That was more of a "wish" than a demand (for all devs...not just you). Wink

Windows Explorer is quirky and upsets me too.

An idea: do you have "Remember each folder's view settings" checked also?

suggestion

this is just a suggestion. it may just be me, but i hate how it starts up minimized in the tray without the window coming up after the first time you have run it. It's also annoying to think you closed it to only see it has minimized to the tray again. I'm not sure if nsis can do that but if not you could consider incorporating an autoit script into your program to be launched by nsis. it's only really an issue because the flash drive will eventually be removed from the computer possibly with the program still running

I downloaded, installed and ran Daphne on three seperate computers. It works great on WinXP and Vista.

Glad to have this great tool as part of my PortableApps toolbelt.

Ready?

Are we thinking this one is ready? It would be handy to have a process explorer in the loop.

The Daphne team has released

The Daphne team has released 1.34, I plan to update this weekend. I still need an icon in the proper format as well. I'm not too fond of a black D on an orange background. Does anybody have any creative ideas for an icon. I'll attempt to make the icon if needed, I just have issues getting the creativity process started lol.

Edit: Their site seems to be down currently, hopefully it's back up soon.

Look At Tango / Crystal

I'd say look at what Tango and Crystal use as process explorer icons.

could make our own

I'm thinking based on nuoveXT-2.2_KDE using a combination of the gear for exec and the magnifying glass. Thoughts?
