Just don't end up like the Geek Squad... Their flash drives suck...

Their service prices are rediculous too, some of my friends used them once....then started calling me after that cause while i may not know everything, i can usually figure it out, and my only charge is that they provide a meal for me (something good like steak, not cheap stuff mcdonalds lol).

we're cooler than that!
full-size van, now we're talking
Now I don't have to worry about DTaskManager anymore. What a relief. Great find, Zach. I'll look at it right away.

thanks Kevin, BTW, are you still planning on doing Griffith film catalog, I may do that one if ur not.
The developer formerly known as ZGitRDun8705
Griffith film catalog? I was not aware I was doing that one. I have never heard of it, as a matter of fact. If you want you can do it, but I just looked it up and it looks pretty neat. If you don't want to, I'll look into it.
Daphne looks great. Nice and light, but it is functional. Great pick. Everything works well. I hereby certify you with the Settings Keeper™ Seal of Approval.

Simeon was doing Griffith, I think, Zach.
Kevin! My server will not be used to host this balderdash!
That one's a keeper, eh?

For Sure.
I realized that as soon as I shut my computer down last night....oops

if you want.
I once started but deleted my files so I'd have to start from scratch.
"What about Love?" - "Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate." - Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate
After taking a look at it, I don't think it will be all that useful portably because it only does movie collections. If we could find a collection manager that can handle collections in general, that would be great.

but you might want to open a new thread for that or the owner of this one could get mad at you

Yeah, we wouldn't want me yelling at me now would we
Edit: well i tried to create the new topic, but for some reason my IP is blocked saying it recently posted spam at PortableApps.com. I can't use the Preview feature that is required to post a new topic, but for comments where a preview isn't required i can still post.

you use an
execwait
command to launch the program and then you usewhy would you need that because the only way that you would ever get to this part of the code is if the program
execwait
ended?Please search before posting. ~Thanks
Thumbs.db leftover in the ..\Other\Help\images directory.
(Everyone should turn thumbnail creation off to prevent this)
Files in ..\App\Daphne dir not UPX compressed. Check this reference out. (1.86MB reduces to 1.12MB)

Help control the rugrat population -- have yourself spayed or neutered!
I disabled thumbnail creation but my machine continues to do it (yes i'm certain I set it to apply to all subdirectories too)

That was more of a "wish" than a demand (for all devs...not just you).
Windows Explorer is quirky and upsets me too.
An idea: do you have "Remember each folder's view settings" checked also?

Yep, its checked....I just reapplied the settings, hopefully it worked.

Updated to dev test 2, should be good to go except for the icon.
The developer formerly known as ZGitRDun8705
this is just a suggestion. it may just be me, but i hate how it starts up minimized in the tray without the window coming up after the first time you have run it. It's also annoying to think you closed it to only see it has minimized to the tray again. I'm not sure if nsis can do that but if not you could consider incorporating an autoit script into your program to be launched by nsis. it's only really an issue because the flash drive will eventually be removed from the computer possibly with the program still running
I'll see what I can do about that. Thanks for the feedback. Any issues other than that?
The developer formerly known as ZGitRDun8705
I downloaded, installed and ran Daphne on three seperate computers. It works great on WinXP and Vista.
Glad to have this great tool as part of my PortableApps toolbelt.
Thanks for testing, glad it works well for you.

Are we thinking this one is ready? It would be handy to have a process explorer in the loop.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
The Daphne team has released 1.34, I plan to update this weekend. I still need an icon in the proper format as well. I'm not too fond of a black D on an orange background. Does anybody have any creative ideas for an icon. I'll attempt to make the icon if needed, I just have issues getting the creativity process started lol.
Edit: Their site seems to be down currently, hopefully it's back up soon.

I'd say look at what Tango and Crystal use as process explorer icons.
I'm thinking based on nuoveXT-2.2_KDE using a combination of the gear for exec and the magnifying glass. Thoughts?

I could do that as well. Now that my new PC actually works correctly, i'll take a look at our options
